PROMT Internet Translation Server will allow Internet projects owners and developers to solve the following problems:

• Establishment of online translation services, including:
  • Translation of texts and documents;
  • Web-page translation;
  • E-mail translation;

• Providing access to databases on the Internet by displaying those in user’s native language.

Request for translation arrives at WWW server with the installed translation server and, depending on current load, is either transferred for translation or placed in queue. All processing is performed automatically on the same physical server that operates independently, without human intervention.

The system is scalable, i.e. the number of simultaneously processed requests and translation speed is in direct relation with the number of physical servers used by Internet projects and the number of processors on each server.

PROMT Internet Translation Server provides the following key options:

• Translation of unformatted text;
• Translation of texts in MS Word 2000 and RTF format with preservation of the format and replacement of fonts at translation;
• Translation of HTML pages with automatic web-page download and parsing and automatic hyperlink translation;
• Translation option setting;
• A set of additional utilities including:
  • Logging of translation volumes, directions and topics per day/week/month;
  • Visitors counter;
  • Remapper utility for multilingual interface messages;
  • Transfer module for transmission of large-sized objects (BLOB) between the client and the server;
  • URL translation module.

The developer’s toolkit (SDK) delivered together with PROMT Internet Translation Server allows expanding the server functionality in the Internet environment with variety of machine translation functions.
